Oregon Mission of Mercy: November 21 and 22
The Oregon Dental Association is hosting its second Mission of Mercy November 21 and 22, 2011 at the Oregon Convention Center. Mission of Mercy is a dental clinic with portable dental stations set up in a large public arena. Dental screenings and services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, at no charge to those who attend. MOM combines the donated services of hundreds of dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental lab technicians and an array of volunteers to provide these free dental services. Last year we provided $829,119.15 worth of treatment to 1554 patients.
We are looking for interested groups who would like to use this opportunity to disseminate public health messages (ie Healthy Kids Insurance, Smoking Cessation, Diet, ect.) Please email Christina cswartz@oregondental.org if you are interested in hosting a table or if you have questions. Or register to help right now and be a part of this year’s Mission – we need all types of volunteers for everything from patient registration and escorting to food service. Speak another language? We are also looking for translators!
