Keeping Children Healthy

Oregon is still in the bottom half of states for health insurance coverage, up-to-date immunizations, and dental care access for children.

Keeping Children Safe

More children in Oregon go into foster care than in nearly any other state and more of those children stay in foster care until they turn 18. However, Oregon did see its first reduction in the rate of child abuse and neglect since 2008.

Strengthening Families

Several years after the official end of the largest economic crisis since the Great Depression, the median family income in Oregon remains more than $5,500 lower than it was in 2008, the percentage of children in poverty is 30% higher, and nearly one-third of households with children are enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
