The Status of Oregon’s Child Welfare System
with special guest, Judge Nan Waller and members of the Oregon Foster Youth Connection
Join us for our next Women for Change Network Quarterly Happy Hour on Tuesday, May 25th from 5:30p.m. – 7:30p.m. In addition to networking opportunities and yummy food and wine, the evening’s program will feature Judge Nan Waller speaking on the status of Oregon’s Child Welfare system. Judge Waller has worked in the justice system for 30 years and has wide experience in civil, family, criminal and juvenile law. Judge Waller is founder of the nationally recognized Take the Time Initiative. She also was influential in designing a Juvenile Court program to provide early access to treatment for parents with substance abuse problems. In May of 2009, she joined the governor appointed Task Force on Disproportionality in Child Welfare. We will also hear from members of the Oregon Foster Youth Connection, a project of Children First for Oregon. The event is free for Women for Change members or $25 for non-members.
