Employment Opportunities
Data Analyst
Children First’s advocacy efforts are designed to educate the public and policymakers about the unique needs of children, and to mobilize individuals and organizations to act on behalf of those children. Our agenda includes strategies to expand Employment Related Day Care so that day care is affordable for working parents; protect TANF for extremely low-income children and expand the Earned Income Tax Credit in order to improve the financial stability for the entire family and prevent child welfare placements.
The Data Analyst (DA) assumes a leadership role on all Children First data management, including data collection and analysis in support of the organization’s data-driven policy recommendations and Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Kids Count publications. This position also plays a role in quality assurance and evaluation systems, including duties related to web and database administration (e.g. query optimization). The DA collaborates closely with Children First policy, communications, and development staff to ensure that internal decisions and public-facing policy recommendations are driven by data, and that the finish of public facing products conforms to Children First’s high standards.

Volunteer Opportunities
Do you have a skill that you’d like to share with foster youth?
We can all think of an example of a kid who seemed to be written off by adults, but someone—a teacher, a community volunteer, whoever—saw that kid’s potential and helped ensure she or he succeeded. Now imagine that happening with hundreds of foster youth around Portland at risk of being “written off.” Help us make a difference in the life of a foster youth. Donate your time and talents today!
